Admin User Training: Mass Maintenance Mode

Mass Maintenance Mode allows alarms to be temporarily suppressed for multiple points of monitoring during planned maintenance activities.

Before You Begin

User Permissions Required:  Administrator

Recommended Uses

  • Probe replacement
  • SNAP probe replacement
  • Equipment servicing
  • Temporary testing
  • Bulk alarm suppression across multiple monitoring points

Do Not Use For

  • Long-term alarm suppression
  • Replacing alarm configuration changes
  • Maintenance Mode for a single point (use Admin User Training: Maintenance Mode by Point)

Understanding Mass Maintenance Mode

Mass Maintenance Mode temporarily suppresses new alarm generations while allowing monitoring and data collection to continue normally.

  • Monitoring continues normally.
  • Environmental readings continue to be collected.
  • New alarm events are suppressed.
  • Maintenance events appear on excursion reports.
  • Notifications can be sent when Maintenance Mode starts and ends.
  • A comment is optional when starting or ending Maintenance Mode early.

Good to Know

Maintenance Mode suppresses new alarm generation only.  It does not stop monitoring or data collection.

    Let's Get Started

    Step 1 – Open Settings

    Select Settings from the navigation menu.

    What you'll see

    The Settings page opens.

    Step 2 – Open Maintenance Mode

    Select Maintenance Mode.

    What you'll see

    The Maintenance Mode page opens.

    Step 3 – Select Monitoring Points

    Select one or more monitoring points.

    What you'll see

    The selected points are highlighted.

    Step 4 – Choose a Duration

    Select 1 Hour, 4 Hours, 8 Hours, 24 Hours, or Custom (up to one week).

    What you'll see

    The selected duration is displayed.

    Step 5 – Notification Settings

    Choose whether to notify subscribed users. Notification sending is enabled by default.

    What you'll see

    Your notification preference is displayed.

    Step 6 – Apply Maintenance Mode

    Select Apply.

    What you'll see

    The confirmation window opens.

    Step 7 – Confirm

    Enter a Maintenance Window name and the required comment, then select Continue.

    What you'll see

    Maintenance Mode begins for the selected points.

    While Maintenance Mode Is Active
    • Monitoring continues normally.
    • Environmental readings continue to update.
    • New alarm events are temporarily suppressed.
    • Active Maintenance Mode events appear on the Maintenance Mode page.
    • Maintenance periods appear on excursion reports. 
    Ending Maintenance Mode

    Maintenance Mode ends automatically when the selected duration expires. You can also end it early if maintenance is completed ahead of schedule.

    • Open Settings>Maintenance Mode.
    • Select Disable All or Disable Selected.

    • Enter the required reason for ending Maintenance Mode early.
    • Optionally notify subscribed users.

    Maintenance Mode can also be ended by resolving the active Maintenance Mode alarm from the Alarms page.

    • Open Settings > Alarms.

    • Select point(s) to be resolved

    • Check/Uncheck the type of alarms to Maintenance only

    • Select Mass Address Selected Alarms

    • Select Resolve

    • Select a Reason
    • Add a Comment if required
    • Click Resolve Alarm
    • No Current Alarms will be shown under Maintenance

    Verify the Results

    • The selected points appear in the Maintenance Mode table.
    • Monitoring data continues normally.
    • No new alarm events are generated for the selected points.
    • Maintenance periods appear on excursion reports.
    • Alarm monitoring resumes when Maintenance Mode ends.
