What each Color means when you're resetting a Sonicu Meter or Gateway (MVP Series Only)

There are times you may need to reset your Sonicu MVP Meter or Gateway.  When holding the On/Off Transmit button down on a Sonicu MVP Meter or Gateway, you should notice a response on the LED located on the Device Faceplate (or bottom panel for ARC meters).  The Meter will perform a specific function depending on what color the LED is flashing while holding the button down.  Each flash in the sequence lasts for one second, with each color flashing 3 times in the sequence.  Below is a list of actions based on LED Color.

1. RED
No action is performed when you release it during a red LED flash.  This is a safety measure in case the intended color/action is missed in a sequence.  RED flashes will happen at both the beginning and end of the sequence.

2. GREEN
Meter performs a manual check-in.  Holding to Green (commonly referred to as Green Reset) forces the MVP Meter or Gateway to come out of sleep mode, take a current reading, and send that reading to the cloud immediately.  This does not wait for your next scheduled check-in.  A green reset is the most common one you will perform, and will always be the first step in troubleshooting a meter that is displaying it is offline.  This action is also necessary when installing newly calibrated probes, as your New NIST Certification document will not load to your site without a Green Reset.

3. YELLOW
Meter enters Deep Sleep Mode.  This essentially turns your meter off.  This should be used if you will not be using a meter for any length of time.  This action will prevent false data from being reported, as well as preserving battery life.

4. DARK BLUE
Meter adjusts Differential Pressure Reading to 0.00. This action is for Field Calibration of Sonicu Differential Pressure Sensors.  This will adjust the Delta for your Sonicu DPS reading to 0.00 to ensure accurate measurements in a variety of climates and at different altitudes.

5. PURPLE
Meter triggers bootloader.  This action causes the MVP Meter or Gateway to fully reset from initial programming and reread all internal component serial numbers.  ***This action should ONLY be performed by an Internal Sonicu employee during equipment repair.***

6. CYAN (LIGHT BLUE)
Meter performs a hard reset.  This action causes the MVP Meter or Gateway to reinitialize internal radios, as well as reprogramming MVP input settings.  ***Please check with Sonicu Tech Support or Customer Success before performing this action, and only proceed once you receive approval.***
